Our School

We are very proud of the Aristotle Greek School. We believe that it is one of the finest Greek schools in the Chicagoland area. It is a jewel of our community.
Established in 1951 by the Holy Taxiarhai and Saint Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church in order to serve dedicated Greek immigrant families in the surrounding area who wanted to instill an appreciation of the Greek language, the Orthodox faith, and Greek history and culture in their children, and to strengthen our Greek American community.
Our school continues to offer classes from pre-kindergarten through junior high and our program is accredited by the Greek Ministry of Education.

Our curriculum for grades 1 through 8 includes reading, writing, grammar, listening, and speaking and also the students are introduced to Hellenic history, mythology, modern and ancient Greek literature, geography, culture and tradition, and to the Greek Orthodox faith.
We emphasize oral practice, offered mainly by daily natural dialogue, dramatization, school theatre, songs, and school events.
Greek dance instruction is offered by professional instructors following Greek school classes and our program continues to be highly successful.
Our teachers take a lot of pride in their work, and they always strive for providing and emphasizing quality Greek education.
Their love and enthusiasm makes the challenge of learning Greek a pleasure and helps our students to better understand the beauty of their Greek heritage and Orthodox faith.
