Outreach program
Our goal for 2024 is to expand our Outreach services to, not just the local community, but also in places of need outside of the United States. We have added 3 new ministries in addition to the current ministries we have up and running. Please consider supporting one of our newer ministries as your heart guides you.

HELP US BUILD A WELL
St. Paul's Primary School in Zomba District, Malawi, has an extremely large enrollment of 2,665 students and only 24 teachers with a sprawling campus of 15 classrooms. Students walk to school from as far as a 7km distance. In the overcrowded classrooms, students sit on the floor as there are no desks to accommodate them... Learn more by clicking here
bESSIE'S TABLE
Join us in offering a meal to those in need. Our Church prepares food and serves at Bessie's Table on the last Monday of every month (some exceptions.) The food is prepared at St. Haralambos Church earlier in the day (1pm-3pm), and delivered to First Methodist where we serve the people for both dine-in and take-out from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.

Meals on Wheels
Every month volunteers prepare meals for individuals and families going through a tough time, who have just lost a loved one, or who are battling a sickness. Each month volunteers deliver bread rolls, soup/salad, main entree, side, vegetable, dessert and fresh fruit.

PACKING MEALS FOR THE HOMELESS
Over the past year we have held three meal packing events for the homeless. These events involve a team of about 30 volunteers who pack 1,000 lunches.
The cost for each of these events is $5,000.

Our Parish is assisting a new homeless shelter in getting up and running. Various toiletries are needed at this time. Please consider donating an item from the attached Amazon Registry. migrant family needs
We were contacted by another local Church about the needs of migrant families. The two specific items they are in need of are crew socks and diapers sizes 4, 5, and 6. We will have a box located outside of the Church office. Please drop off at your convenience Monday-Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm or on your way to Divine Liturgy on Sundays. We will be making monthly deliveries.

Project HOPE
Since March 2020, Project HOPE has partnered with Chicago-based parishes and local networks to provide food security and emergency shelter to those in need. To date, with God’s blessings, HOPE has served 675,000 meals to individuals and families, provided 3,000 nights to people in need of shelter through our partnership with Northside Housing and Supportive Services, and distributed over 12,500 CARE and COVID Kits.
